Who is this for?

It's built for anyone who needs clean, consistent pages: law firms numbering briefs and exhibits, businesses branding reports and proposals with a name and date, and teachers preparing printed handouts. Publishers and writers also use it to paginate manuscripts before sending them out.

Why add headers and footers?

Headers identify documents (company name, project, confidential). Footers show navigation (page x of y, date, document ID). They make a stack of printed pages traceable and professional.

PDF7 lets you add either or both, with full alignment control and dynamic placeholders for page number and total.

Say you finish a quarterly report and need it to look official: drop your company name in the top-right header and the date in the top-left, then number every page "Page {page} of {total}" in the footer. A law firm can do the same to a 60-page brief so every page is traceable in court, and a teacher can paginate a handout in seconds before printing.

Why PDF7?

{page} and {total} auto-filled — like "Page 3 / 12".

FAQ

Can I have different header on first page?

Currently same header/footer is added to every page. For per-section variation, use a desktop tool.

Does it support special characters?

Standard ASCII works perfectly. Latin extended (è, ñ, ç) usually fine. Some non-Latin scripts (Arabic, CJK) may need a font with that glyph.

Can I add an image as header?

Not yet — currently text only. For image headers, use Watermark PDF.

Is the original PDF kept?

No copy is kept. The original is processed in memory, the result is sent back, then both are deleted.

Can I put different text on the left, center and right?

Yes. The header and footer each have independent left, center and right slots. You could put the date on the left, a title in the center and "Page {page} of {total}" on the right — all in one pass.

Are my files uploaded to a third-party server?

No. PDF7 processes everything on its own server with no external API — your PDF is never sent to another company. The file is handled in memory, the stamped result is returned, and both the original and the output are deleted right after.
