Who is PDF text search for?
Lawyers and paralegals reviewing long contracts, students and researchers pulling quotes out of dense papers, and accountants tracking a figure across invoices and statements all rely on it daily. Anyone who needs to locate a word in a document too long to read end to end will find it faster here. If you have ever wished a PDF had a real Ctrl+F that worked on scans too, this is that.

What does Find Text do?
Find Text searches every page of your PDF, Word, Excel, or image file for any word, character, or sentence. It tells you how many matches it found, on which pages, and shows you the surrounding context.
For images and scans, OCR runs first to extract text. Works in 7 OCR languages. No installation, no signup. Files processed in memory and erased after.
It is built for the moments when scrolling is not an option. Hunting for a single clause buried in a 200-page contract, checking whether a name appears anywhere in a scanned report, or confirming an invoice number across a stack of statements takes seconds instead of minutes. Every match comes back with its page number, so you go straight to the spot that matters.
Why use Find Text?
Multi-format support
Search inside PDF, Word, Excel, and image files in one tool. Drop different formats together — search runs across all of them.
OCR-aware
Scanned PDFs and photos go through OCR automatically before search. Find text even in image-based documents.
Page-level results
Each match shows the page number, the surrounding context, and total count. Jump straight to the page in your reader.
Privacy-first
Files processed in memory and erased after search returns. Nothing is logged, nothing is stored.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. We auto-detect scanned PDFs (no embedded text) and run OCR before searching, so even photo-of-paper PDFs are searchable.
Can I use regex?
Yes — toggle Regex mode and use full regular expressions. \d for digits, \bword\b for whole word, alternation, etc.
How big can my file be?
Up to 100 MB. For huge PDFs (1000+ pages) the scan can take 10-30 seconds.
Are my files private?
Yes. Files processed in memory only, never written to disk, erased the moment search returns. We log nothing about content.
Is the search case-sensitive?
By default the search ignores case, so "Invoice" and "invoice" both match. Turn on the case-sensitive toggle when you only want exact-case hits, and use whole-word match to skip partial matches inside longer words.
Can it handle PDFs with hundreds of pages?
Yes. Files up to 100 MB are supported, and a typical few-hundred-page document is scanned in a couple of seconds. Very large PDFs of 1000+ pages may take 10-30 seconds, and scanned files take a little longer because OCR runs first.
