Extract Text from a Photo

2026-05-05 Image To Text

You took a photo of a recipe in a cookbook. You want to type it into your notes app, but transcribing it manually feels like 1995. OCR pulls the text out so you can paste it.

Drop the image, pick the language, get the text. The tool handles printed text reliably; handwriting works for clear examples but is hit-or-miss for cursive. Multi-column layouts (newspaper articles) get reconstructed in reading order.

The recognized text shows in the page so you can copy and paste, or download as a .txt file. If you have a long photo with mixed languages, run it twice with different language settings — recognition accuracy is better when the model knows what to expect.
