Do I need Microsoft Word to use this editor?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser. Any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) works on desktop or mobile.

Will my formatting and images be preserved?

Text, headings, lists and basic formatting are preserved. Complex layouts (multi-column tables, embedded charts, custom fonts) may render simplified but the underlying .docx structure is kept intact.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

Editing happens locally in your browser memory. The file only leaves your device if you choose to save to cloud — otherwise it stays private to you.

Can I edit password-protected Word files?

Not directly. Remove the password in Microsoft Word first (File → Info → Protect Document → Encrypt with Password → delete), then upload the unlocked .docx.
