Who is it for?
For anyone who receives a file in one format but needs it in another. Picture an analyst who is emailed a 40-page PDF financial report and has to total the figures by Friday — instead of retyping every row, they convert it to Excel, sort the columns and finish in minutes. The same goes for a student turning lecture slides into a PDF handout, a lawyer editing a contract in Word, or a designer dropping a stack of JPGs into one shareable PDF.

What is PDF Conversion?
PDF conversion is the bridge between fixed documents and editable formats. A PDF locks your layout in place — that is great for sharing, but a pain when you need to change three words in a contract or pull rows out of a financial report. With PDF7 you turn that PDF into a Word document you can rewrite, an Excel sheet you can sort, a PowerPoint deck you can edit, or a folder of JPGs you can drop into a slide. We support 22+ conversion paths in both directions.
You drop one file. We instantly detect what it is — PDF, Word, Excel, PPT, JPG, PNG, TXT, HTML — and show every format we can convert it to. No drop-down menus to hunt through, no 12-step wizards. Pick a target format, the conversion runs on our server, and the result downloads to your device. Files live in memory just long enough to convert and are erased the second you have your output.
The right direction matters as much as the right format. Converting PDF to Word is perfect for editing text and reusing paragraphs, while Word to PDF locks a finished document so it prints and shares exactly as designed. PDF to Excel pulls tables into rows you can total and sort; PDF to PowerPoint turns a report into editable slides. Going the other way, JPG, PNG or HTML to PDF wraps loose pages, screenshots or a web article into one tidy file. Knowing whether you need something editable or something fixed tells you which path to pick — and PDF7 lays both directions out side by side so the choice is one click, not a guessing game.

Frequently asked questions
Will my converted Word document look the same as the PDF?
For most documents — yes, very close. Layout, fonts and images carry over. Highly complex multi-column layouts or scanned PDFs may shift; for those we run a repair fallback that catches edge cases other converters miss.
How big can my file be?
Up to 100 MB per upload. For very large books or scanned archives, split into chunks first, convert each, then merge them back if needed.
Are my files private?
Yes. We process in memory and never write the file to disk. The moment your converted file is downloaded, it is gone from our server. We do not OCR or analyze the content.
Why does PDF→Word sometimes take a minute or two?
Big or image-heavy PDFs need real work to reconstruct as a Word document — every page is parsed, every image re-embedded, every table reflowed. Our converter uses multiple advanced engines under the hood with automatic repair to maximize success on complex files. The progress bar tells you how far along it is.
Can I convert in both directions — like Word back to PDF?
Yes. Every path runs both ways. PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, PNG and HTML — and Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, PNG or HTML straight back to PDF. Drop your file and PDF7 detects its type, then shows only the targets that make sense for it, so you never pick an impossible conversion. Round-tripping (PDF to Word, edit, then Word to PDF) is a common and fully supported workflow.
Does converting cost quality, and can I convert several files at once?
Text, tables and vector content stay sharp because they are rebuilt, not re-photographed. Images keep their original resolution unless you convert to a lossy format like JPG, where you trade a little detail for a smaller file. For batches, convert files one after another — each runs independently in seconds for typical documents, and there is no daily cap on how many you process.
