At PDF7 we treat privacy as a cornerstone of the service. This policy describes what we process, what we don't, and how your data is protected. We've kept it short on purpose — there isn't much to say about data we don't keep.

1. Overview

PDF7 ("we", "our site") takes user privacy very seriously. This policy lays out what information is processed when you use the service, how it is protected, and what we collect. The platform is designed to work without requiring an account, an email or any personal information.

2. Information Collected

Files: Files you upload for our PDF editing and conversion services are kept only in server memory for the duration of the operation. As soon as processing finishes, they are cleared from memory. They are never written to disk, never backed up, never forwarded to a third party.

Usage data: Anonymous usage statistics may be collected to monitor page performance (for example, which tools are used and how often). This data cannot be linked back to a user and contains no personal identifiers.

Cookies: Our site uses cookies to improve the user experience and to enable advertising services. You can change your cookie preference at any time via the banner at the bottom of the page.

3. File Security

Uploaded files are used only for the operation you requested. Your files are never sold, never used for other purposes and never shared with any company. They are automatically deleted from the server the moment processing finishes; nothing is retained anywhere.

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdSense: Google AdSense is used to display ads on the site. Google may use cookies to serve and personalise advertising. For more information, please review the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics: Google Analytics may be used to understand site traffic. This service collects anonymous usage data and does not gather personally identifying information.

5. Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. The cookies on our site are used to: manage sessions and remember user preferences, analyse site performance, and personalise advertising.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings; however, some features may not work properly. You can also use the "decline" option in the cookie banner at the bottom of the page.

6. Data Retention

Files are processed in temporary memory and cleared immediately when done. Anonymous usage data may be retained for statistical purposes; it contains no personal identifiers and cannot be traced back to you.

6.1. The File Sharing section

Your files are not stored on the tool pages. The only exception is the File Sharing section at /paylas: there a file is kept on the server only because you asked for it, and only for the period you chose (1 hour, 24 hours, 1 week or 1 month), after which it is permanently deleted. You can also remove it earlier with the delete link you are given.

In that section we record the file name, size, type, the period you chose, the file digest and the uploading IP address in order to prevent abuse. In addition, when a shared link is opened we record the visitor’s IP address, country and browser, so we can tell the uploader how many people viewed the share and so we can detect abuse; the same visitor is counted once per day. These visitor records are deleted together with the share and are NOT shown to the uploader — the uploader only sees the total count. The file itself is permanently deleted when the period ends; the upload record is kept separately from the file for the retention period required of us and is then deleted. Records are not shared with third parties; they are provided only on a proper written request from a competent authority. Images you upload are re-encoded and EXIF data (including location) is stripped. The contents of your files are not read or reviewed; content is only examined following a report or a legal request.

7. User Rights

You have the right to request access, correction or deletion of your personal data. That said: PDF7 doesn't store personal data in the first place, so there is typically no record to delete. If you'd like to reach out anyway, the contact page is the right place.
