What is Image Compression?
Image compression shrinks the file size of a JPG, PNG, or WebP without making it look noticeably worse on screens. Phone photos are routinely 4-8 MB each — way more than you need to email, post on social media, or upload to a website. PDF7 squeezes them down to 200 KB-2 MB, which loads instantly anywhere, with quality your eye literally can not tell from the original.
We use advanced JPEG and WebP encoding with quality settings tuned by humans. You pick "small file" (more compression) or "best quality" (less compression), and we rebuild the image at that level. PNG with transparency stays as PNG; everything else becomes a tight JPEG or WebP. The original on your computer is never touched.

Will image quality drop noticeably?
At Balanced setting (50% reduction), almost never on screens. At Maximum (70% reduction), some artifacts on smooth gradients but text and edges stay crisp. Always preview before committing.
What formats are supported?
JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF. PNG with transparency stays PNG; the rest become JPEG/WebP for best compression.
Can I compress for printing?
Use Best Quality preset — minimal compression, photos stay print-ready. For posters or large prints, do not compress at all.
Are my photos stored?
No. Files processed in memory and deleted after download. We do not log content or train AI on your images.
