Who is it for?

Anyone who needs a Word document to look exactly the same in someone else's hands: job seekers, freelancers, students, teachers and office teams. Picture sending your CV to a recruiter or a signed contract to a client — open it as a Word file and their software might swap fonts, break a table or shift a page, but as a PDF every line lands where you put it. It is just as useful for assignments, invoices, reports and official forms that have to print and archive cleanly.

What is Word to PDF Conversion?

Word to PDF conversion takes your editable .docx (or .doc) file and turns it into a fixed PDF that looks identical on every device, every operating system, every printer. Word documents shift around when you open them in different versions — fonts swap, page breaks move, your CV that looked perfect on your screen ends up cut off when the recruiter prints it. PDF locks all of that in place.

We render the Word file with professional-grade conversion technology that handles fonts, embedded media, headers, footers, footnotes, tables, and complex layouts. The PDF you download looks identical to opening the Word file in Microsoft Word.

Once your Word file becomes a PDF, the layout is frozen exactly as you designed it: margins, line spacing, page breaks, columns and embedded fonts all stay put no matter who opens the file or on what device. That is why a PDF is the safer choice the moment a document leaves your hands. Email it, upload it to a job portal, attach it to a contract thread or send it to a print shop, and the recipient sees the same pages you saw, in the same order, with nothing reflowing or shifting. They also can not accidentally nudge a paragraph or delete a line, so the version you sent is the version they read.

Frequently asked questions

Will my fonts look the same in the PDF?

Yes. We embed fonts in the PDF so it renders identically anywhere. If you used a custom font that is not on our server, we substitute the closest match.

Are images and tables preserved?

Yes. Images stay at full resolution, tables keep their structure, headers and footers stay where they should.

What about old .doc files?

Both .doc (Word 97-2003) and .docx (Word 2007+) are supported. Just drop the file; we auto-detect the format.

Can I add a password to the PDF?

Not in this tool — Word to PDF gives you a clean PDF. Use our Protect PDF tool right after to add password protection.

Do clickable links and the table of contents still work?

Yes. Hyperlinks to websites and email addresses stay clickable in the PDF, and an automatic table of contents keeps its internal jump-to-page links so readers can navigate long documents.

Can I convert several Word files at once?

This tool converts one Word file per run, which keeps each PDF clean and predictable. To turn a whole folder of documents into PDFs, run them through one at a time, or merge the finished PDFs together afterwards with our Merge PDF tool.
